End User Licence Agreement

Last updated: 23 June 2026 · Version 1.0.0 · PCRiskPro Limited

The short version:

You’re buying a licence to use PCRiskPro on a set number of devices, not the software itself. Everything it scans stays on your machine. It’s an assessment tool — it tells you about risks, it doesn’t guarantee you’re secure. Subscriptions renew annually until you cancel, and cancelling is self-service.

1. This agreement

This End User Licence Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you (an individual or the business you represent) and PCRiskPro Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17035916, registered office: 20 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU, England) ("we", "us"), for the PCRiskPro desktop software, including any updates we provide (the "Software").

By installing, activating, or using the Software you agree to this EULA. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software. If you are accepting on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.

Purchases are processed by LemonSqueezy as Merchant of Record; LemonSqueezy's terms of sale apply to the purchase transaction itself, and this EULA governs your use of the Software.

2. Licence grant and plans

Subject to this EULA and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Software in object-code form, on the number of devices permitted by your plan, for your own internal business or personal use.

The Software is licensed, not sold. We reserve all rights not expressly granted. Features available in each plan are described on our pricing page and may be enforced technically by the Software.

3. Licence keys, activation and devices

Paid plans are activated with a licence key issued by LemonSqueezy at purchase. Keep your key confidential; you are responsible for use of the Software under your key.

The Software validates your licence when it starts and an internet connection is available, and caches the result so it can run offline for up to 7 consecutive days. After 7 days without successful validation, the Software will pause until it can validate again.

Each key may be activated on the number of devices your plan allows. Activation is tracked using an anonymised device identifier.

You may move your licence to a new device by deactivating an existing one, either using the "Deactivate this device" option in the Software's settings or by contacting

support@pcriskpro.com

4. What you must not do

Except to the extent permitted by law that cannot be excluded by agreement, you must not:

Copy (other than for backup), distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or transfer the Software or your licence key to any third party;

Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, or attempt to derive its source code, detection patterns, or scoring logic;

Circumvent, disable, or interfere with licence validation, activation limits, feature gating, or any other technical protection;

Use the Software to scan devices, networks, or data you do not own or lack authorisation to assess;

Use the Software to develop a competing product, or publish benchmarks of the Software without our written consent;

Remove or alter any proprietary notices in the Software.

You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Software — including scanning devices within your organisation — complies with applicable law and any internal authorisation requirements.

5. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

Paid plans are annual subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price for your plan, unless cancelled before renewal.

You can cancel at any time, self-service, through the payment (MoR) customer portal (linked in the Software's settings and in your purchase emails). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period — you keep full access until then.

When a subscription expires or is cancelled and the paid period ends, the Software will [CHOOSE: revert to Free Edition functionality / display a renewal screen and pause paid features] . Your local scan data is not deleted.

If a free trial is offered, the trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled first. [DELETE if no card-required trial is offered.]

We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice by email before your renewal.

6. Refunds

We offer a [e.g. 14]-day money-back guarantee on first purchases: if the Software isn't right for you, contact support@pcriskpro.com within [14] days of purchase for a full refund, processed by the payment processing portal. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, where they apply.

7. Updates and support

An active paid subscription includes access to Software updates (including detection pattern and vulnerability database updates) released during your subscription period, and email support at support@pcriskpro.com with responses targeted within one working day. The Free Edition includes [e.g. application updates but community-level support only]. We may require you to install updates to continue receiving support.

8. Your data and privacy

All scanning, analysis, scoring, and report generation is performed locally on your device. The Software does not transmit your files, scan results, or findings to us or to any third party. The only data transmitted is the licence validation described in section 3. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

9. Important: what PCRiskPro is and isn't

PCRiskPro is a risk assessment and discovery tool. It is designed to help you find potential issues; it is not a guarantee that your systems are secure or compliant. In particular:

No assessment is exhaustive.

The Software may not detect every sensitive file, vulnerability, or misconfiguration (false negatives), and may flag items that are not in fact issues (false positives). Results depend on your configuration, scan scope, file formats, and the state of third-party vulnerability data.

It is not certification.

The Cyber Essentials module assesses indicators against published control themes; it does not certify you, and a passing result does not guarantee you will pass a formal Cyber Essentials, CE Plus, or any other audit or certification.

It is not professional advice.

Output from the Software does not constitute legal, regulatory, or professional security advice. You are responsible for decisions made and actions taken based on its results, including remediation steps.

It is not protection software.

The Software assesses risk; it is not antivirus, EDR, backup, or any other protective control, and is not a substitute for them.

10. Warranty disclaimer

Except as expressly set out in this EULA and to the maximum extent permitted by law, the Software is provided "as is" and "as available", and we exclude all implied warranties, conditions, and terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will identify all security risks or sensitive data. If you are a consumer, this section does not affect your statutory rights.

11. Limitation of liability

Nothing in this EULA excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales.

Subject to the paragraph above: (a) we shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of data (including data lost or corrupted during scanning, which you should protect with your own backups), business interruption, or losses arising from security incidents, breaches, or regulatory enforcement affecting your systems, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, even if foreseeable; and (b) our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Software or this EULA shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software in the 12 months preceding the claim (or £100 if you use only the Free Edition).

12. Intellectual property

The Software, including its code, detection patterns, scoring methodology, reports templates, branding, and documentation, is owned by PCRiskPro Limited and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Reports you generate from your own data are yours to use for your internal purposes. This EULA does not transfer any ownership of the Software to you.

13. Termination

This EULA is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you materially breach it (including breach of section 4), and we may deactivate licence keys involved in breach or fraud. You may terminate at any time by uninstalling the Software and ceasing to use it. On termination, your licence ends and you must uninstall the Software; sections 9–12 and 14 survive termination. Termination does not entitle you to a refund except as set out in section 6 or required by law.

14. General terms

Changes to this EULA.

We may update this EULA for new versions of the Software or where required by law. Material changes will be notified in the Software or by email; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Export and sanctions.

You must comply with applicable export-control and sanctions laws in your use of the Software.

Entire agreement.

This EULA, together with the Privacy Policy and your purchase terms with LemonSqueezy, is the entire agreement regarding the Software.

Severability.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

No waiver.

A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.

Assignment.

You may not assign this EULA without our consent; we may assign it as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business.

Governing law.

This EULA is governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers resident elsewhere in the UK may rely on the mandatory protections and courts of their home nation.
